A type of healing peat resulting from natural processes in nature. Mud treatment is peloid therapy. The mud is used in the form of compresses, wraps and baths. It is indicated for use in inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the joints and spine, post-traumatic conditions of the musculoskeletal system, neurological (discopathy, neuralgia), rheumatological and gynaecological diseases. Mud wraps combine peloid therapy and thermotherapy (heat treatment). During a deeply overheating procedure (temperature approx. 45 degrees Celsius), the most valuable mud components penetrate the skin, acting anti-inflammatory and analgesic. They favour the absorption of oedema in rheumatological diseases. They also have a positive effect on tissue renewal. Peloid therapy is also used in the form of bathing in a mud suspension.
